This extension, available on all femtosecond oscillators, delivers ultrashort pulse duration, without any internal adjustment of the laser resonator.

The extension uses controlled spectral broadening of the oscillator output pulse in an optical fiber, followed by pulse compression by means of negative dispersion mirrors.

Pulses with sub-50 fs pulse duration are available, with total conversion efficiency greater than 50%. The complete set-up is integrated in a compact mechanical housing (20x20 cm, 8x8 in).

Additional negative dispersion mirrors are also available, in order to pre-compensate for the dispersion induced by a microscope coupled to the laser.
